    Hey,

Just wanted to let you know that your research and analysis here is quite valuable to me. I’ve been looking for a GITS SAC 2nd GIG critical analysis for a long time. Unfortunately, almost all discussions around the series are largely superficial. I’m glad to see that I have at least one kindred spirit out there.

    Well done,

Same here. Can’t believe IG guys went through this massive background to design all episodes.

By the way, have you finally read the (first) manga? Think it may still help on some topics?

    • I’ve never read any of the manga. I deliberately tried to limit the scope of my research just to the anime. Generally speaking, unless you put parameters on your research and your topic, then there’s nothing stopping you going on forever into different direction, and then nothing ever gets done or gets written. That’s why I didn’t read the manga, only watched the anime. In hindsight, this was probably a mistake, considering how the manga-to-anime process in GITS was a particularly difficult and troublesome one.

Well, that’d be all. If you’ ll ever give a try to the manga, be on paper or free scans, stick with the first one. The others are not worth the money;)

  4. I’m completely astounded that such a thing as this even exists. I really don’t know what to say. I mean “Mikhail Silverwood”, that is not a believable name for an editor, and it’s pretty obvious that this was not edited. I can’t understand what would compel you to write something like this. I’m sure you have a better grasp on Marx and GITS than I do, but I don’t see how either are served by this. I’m impressed regardless, but just wow.
